The Biggest Killer

Not sparring. Not the heavy bag. Nothing destroys a perfect training glove like moisture.

Mostly caused by sweat, heat, & poor storage.

With only the worst endings.

Cracked leather. Bad odour. Lining deterioration. Velcro wear. Premature padding breakdown

That is why the best glove-care habit isn't a product.

It's getting the gloves dry.

Bare Minimum Care After Every Session

Here are the 3 things you must do after every session if you want to get the most rounds out of your gear.

1. Remove Wraps Immediately: Don’t leave sweaty wraps on your hands after training and make sure to store them away from the rest of your gear.

2. Wipe Leather: Using an antibacterial wipe, gently clean the interior and exterior of your gear. Make sure anything wiped or sprayed on your gear has 0 alcohol.

3. Air Dry Overnight: Make sure to open the gear up and ideally keep each piece from touching each other. Then allow them to dry naturally and air out over night.

Drying Rules

The goal is simple: let moisture escape naturally, without cooking the leather or trapping damp gloves in your bag.

Best: Natural Airflow

Ie.

Desk fan

Open window

Room airflow

Good: Glove Deodorisers

Good addition but can’t replace air drying naturally.

Caution: Heated Glove Dryer

Not dangerous, but can dry out leather faster.

Avoid: Hair Dryer/ Heater/Radiator

Dries out leather and shortens the lifespan of your gloves.

Storage Rules

Do Not Trap Moisture

These "harmless" habits can cut years off your gloves without you ever noticing.

  • That is why you NEVER...

  • Leave gloves in gym bag overnight

  • Store wraps inside gloves

  • Store gloves pressed tightly together

  • Leave gloves in a hot car

  • Leave out gloves in the sun

Maintenance Every Few Days/Weeks

Leather Care

  • All our gear is made from Premium Turkish leather, which is naturally durable, but like any leather, it benefits from occasional care.

  • Apply a small amount of leather conditioner every few weeks or if the leather begins to feel dry.

  • Use a soft cloth and avoid over-applying.

  • Focus on high-flex areas such as the knuckles, thumb attachment and palm.

  • Do not overapply or apply to damp gloves.

  • With proper care, quality leather should remain supple, comfortable, and resistant to premature cracking for years.

Lace Up Care

  • Always loosen the laces before removing your gloves.

  • Store gloves with the wrist opening relaxed rather than pulled tight.

  • Replace frayed laces before they snap.

  • If your laces become stiff or sweat-soaked, remove them and hand wash with mild soap before air drying

Hook And Loop Care

  • Close the Velcro when storing gloves to prevent it collecting debris.

  • Remove any trapped fibres, hair or fluff from the hook side periodically.

  • Avoid ripping the strap open aggressively after every session.

  • If using glove deodorisers, ensure they don't interfere with the Velcro closure when stored.

Final “Avoid” List

These are not subtle storage mistakes.

These are the big ones that can wreck leather, padding, and lining fast.

1. Alcohol Cleaners

Strips colour and ruins leather.

2. Vaseline

Leaves residue and attracts dirt.

3. Washing Machine

Destroys structure and padding.

4. Harsh Chemicals

Breaks down premium materials.

5. Direct Heat

Dries leather and causes cracking.
