Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
White leather gloves will show dirt and scuffs more easily than darker colored gloves. Most small marks can be wiped off with a damp cloth right after you train. Some boxers like the look of a worn-in white glove as it shows they have been working hard.
To keep your white gloves clean, you should wipe them down with a soft damp cloth after every single use to remove any sweat or dirt. For tougher scuff marks you can use a special leather cleaner. Do not ever use harsh chemical cleaners as they can damage the leather.
The rules for glove color can be different depending on the competition or organization. In a lot of amateur events, the gloves are provided by the event organizers and are usually either red or blue. It is always a good idea to check the rules for your competition.
When you are hitting a heavy bag, it is possible for a small amount of color from any glove to rub off onto the bag’s surface. This is more common with new gloves. With high- quality leather and dye, this should be very minimal.
