5 Things That You Need To Start Boxing Training Reading Compact Gloves. Built Since 2021. 3 minutes

Since the release of our Compact Gloves, more brands have started releasing gloves marketed as “compact.”

Compact 12 made the category impossible to ignore. But the technology was pioneered back in 2021 inside one of our earliest innovations.

Conditioning Gloves - The First Compact Principle

A 24 oz glove in a 16 oz profile

Built to load the hands for power, endurance, and conditioning without feeling oversized or clumsy.

At the time, we did not call it the Compact Glove.

But the technology existed inside the glove.

Compact 12

Engineered for raw power without sacrificing alignment, timing, and in-fight precision.

Originally designed for Gervonta Davis to use in his exhibition against Jake Paul.

The contract called for 12 oz.

So we built a 12 oz glove with the profile and feel of a traditional 8 oz fight glove.

Although the fight was cancelled, Tank still loved them, and Coach Calvin noticed the gloves enhanced power training by delivering 12 oz protection while preserving the feel and precision of a standard fight glove.

This evolved into our first official Compact Glove.

Compact 14 & 16

Since then, demand has kept growing, so we have expanded the collection to serve more weight classes, training styles, and fighter preferences.

Our latest additions were Compact 14 and 16, with the profile of a 10 oz fight glove.

Same mission and principles as the Compact 12 but built to accommodate the heavier fighters who wear 10 oz fight gloves instead of 8 oz.

The Result Of Compact

The compact line is now being used by some of the biggest names in boxing. This is why it is no surprise to see many other brands now including words like compact in their latest glove designs.

Why is demand so high?

Before these gloves were released, every fighter had to compromise either fight glove feel or protection.

12 oz, 14 oz & 16 oz gloves feel super protective, but they add more bulk, and so the way your hand hits the mitts/bag is slightly different to a traditional fight glove.

On the other hand, 8 oz & 10 oz gloves are used in training to get used to the feel of the glove, preparing you for your fight. But you can only get so much protection from such a small glove. Especially if you don’t want to professionally wrap your hands every time.

Compact gloves allow fighters to get both: the precision and dimensions of a traditional fight glove, with the protection of a training glove.
